During a murderous 48-hour period, from September 29 to September 30, 1941, thousands of Jews were forced by Nazi special forces, the Einsatzgruppe, to assemble at a large ravine in Kiev, Ukraine known as Babyn Yar (or Babi Yar). Once there, they were mercilessly shot and killed.
Beyond Babi Yar is the story of one man’s quest to honor not only his family members who died in such a humiliating fashion, but the many more who also did.
